Default Re: I've Redesigned My Website

Hi Lori
Your new redesined web site looks great.I had a problem with your demo on carving your Kestrel I got to page 6 then tryed to go to page 7 it would not go on and error 404 came up. I am not sure if this is a problem on my end or yours. I enjoyed the domo as far as I could get. I am carving a Kestrel full size and I am at a point where I am setting the eyes. I am not sure of the angle and depth. I am using non harding clay to try and get a proper setting before setting with epoxy and an eye ring.I hope you can find some time to give a few pointers. This is my first raptor.
Thanks Gordo

Thanks again, all...
I've optimized it, so it's really fast, now too....:-)

Gordo...the non-hardening clay is a great idea...I use that method. As to the angle of the eyes on raptors, the most important thing to remember is they are more foward facing than other birds. The prey birds/animals have their eyes more on he sides of their heads in order to get a wider view of their surroundings (in front, to the side and to the rear of them)...raptors, being predators, have forward facing eyes for better binocular vision and focusing.

Denny Rogers's book, "The Illustrated Birds of Prey: Red-tailed Hawk, American Kestrel & Peregrine Falcon" has a great anatomy section on all three birds. He draws the skull to show the angle of the eyes in their orbits and measures that angle.

Page 7 came up for me just fine...try it again, but clear your cache first (Ctrl + F5 on Windows)...
