| | Re: Hey. Hi-Ho...Crawdads Hey Al,
OK ... I've been reading this thread in total fustration! My good hubby installed the newest version of ZoneLabs Zone Alarm and it wouldn't allow me to post anything to the net! For the last 24 hours we haven't even had the net. At an earlier one point it won't even allow our computer to load the mouse or keyboard ... AHHH! So I have been waiting for days to be able to ask this question. (See me suffering!)
How big is that crawdad? Is that a finger tip that I see in your image?????
Even if it's five inches long it's great but if it's the size I think it is I am just floored!

| | Re: Hey. Hi-Ho...Crawdads Susan, I'm afraid I'm not one of those carvers that does matchstick carving. That finger tip is mine, but it's right next to the lense, so it's a LOT smaller than it looks. The crawdad is actually 4"+ long, not counting the antennae. With them it's just over 5" (pretty close to actual size for one our northern crawdads.) Thanks for the compliment! Want to see some REAL fish carving? check out Stacey Mitchell's site......makes me wanna cry! http://www.royannbaum.com/skwildlife/s&k/gallery.htm
He just checked in with some advice on fishcarving using airbrushes, and only signed in as Stacey. Got some advice from him years back and have been an admirer of his work ever since......it's worth admiring!

Hi-Ho...Crawdads Susan, go into zonealarms and look at "privacy" settings and programs.....you will see some of your sites are blocked....have gone to zonealarm myself and have had problems learning how to do it....frustrating, but sure don't get a lot of the garbage I used to get.....so your choice, frustrated or frustrated lol...thats computers! |

| | Re: Hey. Hi-Ho...Crawdads Hey Hi_Ho,
My beloved hubby is not only my webmaster but also a first class nerd. He's been inside the program guts of our computer systems since we started back in '97 ... the Dark Ages! He talks Level Three Tech Support stuff (all Greek to me!).
So, anyway, he upgraded about a week ago to ZoneAlarm 6 and, whoa, did that turn out to be a major mistake. He's been all over the forum at Zone Labs and by the postings there it's not us. The entire forum is screaming about problems, crashes, and blocks to the point that Zone Labs is giving back, yes I said refunding, people's money if they new subscribers and just bought Version 6.
Personally, I have never heard of a software company giving refunds on anything for any reason. It's never done!
So yesterday, following the instructions of the Zone Lab forum he un-installed Version 6. That took us directly from the frying pan into the broiler! We were dead in the water for about 20 hours. Bless him, he has us up and running this morning ... which I can prove because I am here posting. It looks like today will be spend doing the clean up from yesterday's mess. Don't know how many stitches this surgery will require.
---
That crawdad is just amazing at 4"!!!! I have a wonderful little lily pond that I know he would be just right at home in.

| | Re: Hey. Hi-Ho...Crawdads Thanks to norton, we got a baaaad virus, wiped out everything but our pictures....we now have mozilla/firefox, and zonealarms, spybot, search and destroy, and adware...oh and a "cool web" killer....now except for finding out how and where to do things, we don't get anywhere near the garbage we used to get, now about all I get are a few spam emails selling mortgages, telling me I won the UK lottery or pharmaceutical ads...lol maybe your husband should look up Kim Kommando on the web, she has free newsletters daily and is on the radio I think daily, she will speak his language, lots of people swear by her that she has helped them with their computer.....anyway Good Luck! LOL (Oh forgot...ha ha, I got "Blue Frog" to help get rid of those few emails that bug me!) |
