Nicely carved Dave. The whole setting, crawdad, water, rocks looks real.

The "Hippie" is way COOL, Like the grey beard, hair. Could use that one for a toper on a walking stick.

Hi_Ho,
That is a fine crawdaddy!
One of the nice things about being in Florida, you can walk in a restaurant and order them, spicy as can be, by the pound! Umm Umm!!! Takes some beer to cool that spicy, though!

I got the original pattern from Ed Wallicki's book "Freshwater Fish Carving Patterns" and tweaked it some to get this one. I imagine Dave has done a little tweaking, too. Wallicki's book has some of the best ideas for fish patterns that I have found....just patterns, no thick endless text, so if you need reference, etc, ya hafta catch yer own. I'll email you my pattern if you want it. Just send me an email with your return addy.

Al, Dave, those crawdads are terrific!! I really have to try one someday...to carve...not to eat! When they grow as big as lobsters I'll eat them, be too much work, worse than eating crabs....you could starve to death eating them!!

I really like the habitat you did big brother, very, very nice job on it!! I like the hippy too!!

Adding pictures in your post is easy, when you're writing your reply, just scroll on down the page a little, you'll see the Additional Options Box. Second choice (in blue) is Attach Files, click on the Manage Attachments. It will open up the download instructions, simple as pie! Callynne
