| | Re: Helpful tips in burning I think that it's missing something. So I'm going to add her paw prints around the edge of the plate. Now, it I can just get her to sit still long enough to get her prints! s anyone?

| | Re: Helpful tips in burning Bob -- that's BEAUTIFUL !!
For paw prints I'd cheat and use prints I'd find on google or clip art. I think real prints would be too fuzzy, huh? But any prints would be great around the rim.
I am astounded by that as a "first attempt".
What burner are you using? |

| | Re: Helpful tips in burning Yep, Bob, try these.....from Peterson Field Guide to Animal tracks.
You can mirror the sketch to get both left and right tracks, if you want.
these are listed as Siberian or Alaskan Husky.

| | Re: Helpful tips in burning Hey Bob, that is an awesome job!! I wouldn't do any more to it, its great the way it is. If you start with carving birds, I'm going to be out of a job. |

| | Re: Helpful tips in burning There, I think this is better. Had to go out and trace her prints in the snow. Lots of fresh tracks frozen in. Bloody cold out there though! But she enjoys it.....and was a big help!

| | Re: Helpful tips in burning Well there you have it … a masterpiece indeed. The only problem is that woodburning can be addictive especially to carvers. You must have noticed that it is fun and a lot faster than carving, not to mention how fast you receive gratification of the finished piece. Unlike a carving that could take months too finally see the finish.
Oh do not misunderstand me, I am not down playing carving in anyway.
But I find woodburning like a quick fix when you don’t have the time to carve.
Once again great work …. |
