A mourning Dove has a 6mm Hazel eye, and this is a link to a Dove site, that has lots of photos and information on the Dove. http://www.wbu.com/chipperwoods/photos/mdove.htm

Also if you want to join a site birdforum.net is an awesome one for some great photos of all types of birds. Just go into the Gallery and do a search on Mourning Doves. Lots of good photos in there and usually they're hi-res or larger in size so you can see some good detail. Also a good place to come up with some good poses/compositions.

I did a flying Dove from a book by Rosalyn Daisey on Game Bird Carving. I have it pictured in each step on my web page. If this helps.

Paul.
Your site is great. I love the goldfinch on the dogwood. I took a class with Roz Daisey, what a wonderful teacher and person. I have three of her books. She lives about 40 miles north of me.
Any more info on the gofdfinch woud be appreciated such as pattern used and how you did he habitat.
Cheers
