Hello Lucas,

Welcome to the board. This is a wonderful site for carvers. Glad you found it.

Your first carving is exceptional. I am sure you will go on to produce beautiful work.

By the way, I just want to mention my wife is from Germany by way of Viet Nam.

Good Luck with your carving.

Welcome to this great site, you are on the right track in your falcon carving.
This is where you ask about the areas of carving you feel that you are weak in and someone is always available to answer any question or problem you are having. Have fun in what ever you are doing, commit yourself to research nd practice and practice then practice some.

Hi Lucas, and welcome!

Your work is great! I think you'll find limewood (basswood over here in the US) an excellant choice for your carvings. Good luck, and enjoy!

Thank you guys for your nice replies. I´m very glad to found this site to get in contact with some who share my problemsWink. There´s nothing compareable in my area, especially for wildlife carving which i´m interested in. I´ve seen very impressive work in the gallery and thats a good reason to go on and try further!
I had already bought some new knives and had some wood left:-)
BTW are there forum members from germany?

ATB Lucas
