| | Harris Hawk bust I have just finished a Harris hawk bust and posted in the galleries. It is from a Marlen Downing design used for a red-tail hawk. The base is a slab of cypress knee. The hawk is painted with watercolor and finished with Krylon clear matte. The cypress knee base has several coats of tung oil. The bird (basswood) is 10.5 inches and the slab 3.0 inches. I used two pieces of all thread set in epoxy to attach the hawk to the base. |

| | Re: Harris Hawk bust Paul, The eyes are glorious! Bird eyes can be difficult to get a truely real feeling in their appearence. I also love how the base wood that you chose accents the shoulder coloring. Very nicely done!
