Default Golf Club Ducks

I am a woodcarver who does not do birds. Â*I am interested in the GolfClub duck carvings because they look like a good hand exercise that is not too difficult. Â*I need a little assistance in working out the dimensions of the duck head and an in on where I can find different kinds of ducks in color so I can carve and paint as true to life as possible. Â*It looks like a good winter project and I already have 13 clubs cut down. Â*Any assistance would be appreciated by those out there who know a lot more than I do. Â*Thank you.

Tony, I think there was an article on this in a very recent issue of WCI. Check out the back issues.

Also a good place to get the old wooden heads is at a flea market. I purchase a bunch every time I go. Now if I just took time to carve one it would be great.

Just a heads up ... some of the olld persimmon clubs are worth in the hundreds of dollars to collectors ... you could be carving some very expensive wood .... I used to have a book that showed the collector values but it disappeared someplace ... golfworks in Ohio publlishes one for about $20 if I remember right ... They have a website so Google should be able to find them ... Then again your local library might have something along those lines .... Or, just carve away ....
