Default Foal 2.0

After the first foal I did some months ago and I gave to a friend (as use to end almos all my carvings ) I wanted to do one for myself.

I experimented with stain and painting and I'm quite happy with the results. This foal doesn't has the baby face of the first one, but is much more delicated and better finished.

Edited: I changed the photos, by some with better lightand as more detailed as my camera allows.
As at this stage everything I do is an experiment, I wish you could give any advice and criticism posible.

I'd be happy with that one, too, Tarik! Well done.

wow, this really is a beauty ! i cant give advise or so, since i not very familiar with horses, and foals, despite i love them, but i came in to say you i do love the way you captured the pose. i have often seen foals excately in that pose. so beautiful... the only thing which i was finding is that he the foal looks like a he) is pretty strong for a foal, but then again i am no horse specialist, and your carving has all the spirit, and i love it. great work !

You are true, Doris, this guy has an attitude and the innocent face is what I miss of my previous one (you can see it below, in Similar Thread). It can't be seen so well in the photos, but I put a drop of glowy varnish in the eyes and at least it gives a more playful expression.

I'm working with the base and will update when finished.

I think he looks great. The angle of his head to the side is wonderful and fun, and I really like the colors.
