Thanks for all the kind words everyone. My progress gets slowed by life's other activities and my shore birds just have to be patient. I am taking a carving class and will be doing a couple of cedar waxwings, so will have to make time for that. I've been inspired by Blackjaxe's Chickadee work, am going to try and do something similar with my waxwings...base, stem, leaves and berries. But, my new airbrush came in the mail today and I"m pretty excited to have a go with it on the shorebirds. They will be painted with an airbrush/brush combination. I'm sure there's quite a learning curve, but I'm still excited to see it put to work. I'll update this thread when I start painting the shorebirds and maybe start a new thread on the Cedar Waxwings.
