I want to thank OLD CROW for his insperation on this. I have tried to carve some people and all I got was firewood. I even messed up and posted this in the wrong catagory so here it is again. This is my first carving of a goldfish. I know the colors are kinda yuck I will be getting my airbrush out after my next hitch but for now I am using paint brushes. So I gotta ask what yall think?? Good Bad or just ugly LOL Thanks |

Judea, My first goldfish looked more like a filet of fish! I think you did good. What kind of paints were you using? Wanda

The fish looks really good. Thank God, I'm going to have my anual eye test tomorrow because it looks to me that your fish done swum right thru the side of the fish bowl. Cliff |

Nice goldfish for your first try. I like the swimming through the bowl effect!

Nice carving, and a very novel presentation. Bravo! Instead of using an airbrush, why don't you try thinning your paints, applying them as washes rather than as thick paint? Most of the figures I see here are done that way.

Interesting! I noticed this idea in the last issue and toyed with the idea. After seeing your piece I think I'll give it a try! Al |
