Hello all, I started this Jay about 4 months ago, but had to put it aside because of health issues. The old ticker was going tick, tick, instead of tick, tock. But after a "rotor rooter" job, and cardiac rehab, I'll be back to posting, and carving. My Blue Jay carving is a gift for my daughter. The Jay is carved from Tupelo, the branch and acorns are carved from basswood, and the base is walnut. The post is burl maple. The leaf is sheet brass. Feels good to get back to the forum. regards Ed |

Really nice. Looks just like the one hanging around our hunt camp this past week. Hope you are feeling better.

Thanks for the kind words sappy. For awhile there, I didn't care if it ticked, tocked, or ding donged, as long as it did something. :-) regards Ed |

Thanks for the kind words Dan. I had a lot of fun carving the Jay. Carving is a great relaxing hobby for anyone on the mend. My doctor asked if it might be stressful worrying if I would make a mistake. I said heck no, If I make a mistake, I just make a smaller bird. regards Ed |
