Joelow;

The July-August 1991 edition of Chip Chats had a Mary Duke Guldan pattern of an Asian elephant and the October 1993 issue of Wood Magazine had a pattern and excellent instructions for an African elephant. Alternately, if all you need is pictures, go to google.com and plug in elephant and you will come up with hundreds if not thousands of elephant pictures.

I appreciate the suggestions about the elephant pattern. I ordered a back issue of Wood magazine, but could not locate the Mary Duke Guldan pattern. I like her patterns, as they are easy to follow.
Thanks
Joelow

Joelow:

Go to www.chipchats.org, they have back issues for sale at $1.25 each. And if you haven't already, join the National Wood Carvers Association, Chip Chats parent organization. It only costs $14.00 per year and this includes a subscription to Chip Chats published every other month. About 130 pages of pictures, projects, advice, book reviews, etc., and best of all no advertising. If you are like me you will consider it the best $14.00 you spend all year. Good luck.
