| | Re: eastern bluebird As to the referral to the 35.00 book, sorry it wasn't helpful. When you asked for instructions, I immediately thought of that book...it is simply the best source out there for carving and painting the E. Bluebird, bar none.
I have done several Eastern Bluebirds, and kept detailed step-by-step painting notes. I have sent them to people who ask, but without photos to go with them, they're not very helpful to many folks. That's why I didn't offer them.

| | Re: eastern bluebird Oh ...
Well , I have to tell you. I see people do bluebirds and I always wonder where they see them. Because the ones here look like blue velvet and are all one color.
But I never see them in carvings , the ones in carvings are always brown bellied. And a dull blue compared to the ones I have seen in the wild.
But I want pics !
Oh out of the cast , but still a bit touchy, guess it will be for a while. But now I can out run Goody again ! =)

| | Re: eastern bluebird Ash...the all blue ones are the Mountain Bluebird (that's the one I did for my book). The ones with the rusty red bellies are the Eastern and the Western.
So, you've seen the Mountain Bluebird in WV?? C O O L!!
Glad you're out of your cast and you're up and "running"...grin....
