Default draft horse bust

i finished this yesterday. its 10 inches tall with the base and the base is 5 1/4 inches in diameter--a good friend turned the base for me. the head is ofcourse basswood and the base and standard are butternut- all has 6 coats of satin polyurethane. i think it needs a few more-- i just looked at the uploaded pic-- i see i need another light to eliminate the shadows. the learning curve is steep for this redneck. after i learn to carve-- i need to work on photography.

Sometimes Basswood looks great with a clear finish. Certainly this is one. Neat carving.
