Very nice carving. One of my want to do's is a Downy. I would also be interested in your DC. I have a big Delta DC for my wood shop but cannot think of having it run for hours while I carve. It is a little noisy!
Hey everyone!! Taken me a long time to complete this piece as I had some other projects to do before this but here it is. One of the very few that I used an actual real branch/log for part of the composition. But felt it was a good one and perfect for this particular piece. And the collector was fine with it. I named it "AHA!" because right in front of the bird is a hole with a little caterpillar I carved in it! So the Downy sees it and says...you guessed it..."AHA!" suggesting he saw it and thus...a little snack.
