Default curious

I always was under the impression that anything carved with power could be done just as well with hand tools. While chatting with a carver in the carving club who's opinion I have a lot of respect for he said that in bird carving to get the detail you had to use power unless it was stylized. Does anyone use just hand tool?

I use both knives, gouges, etc, however mostly power tools, however I know a few well known world carvers that use only knives, gouges and other cutting
tools. Well I started out using traditional hand tools and as I continued my
ventures in carving,I discovered power tools and now I have quite an assortment of power tools and a whole lot of bits and burrs. So as far as my concerns are NONE,and used what you are more comfortable with,no pun or insults intended.
