There are some great pictures of snarling cats in a book on Drawing Wild Animals available at Fox Chapel. Check your local library for a copy of that or similar books. Also , you can check for books or sites on widllife art or artists: paintings, sculpture, drawings, etc. There are plenty of images out there.

Here's a Googled link on images of "snarling cougars"

http://images.google.com/images?q=sn...m|large|xlarge

Pick one, print it in black and white, and trace off the major lines. You got a pattern.

Hope it this helps.

A reference you may find useful is "Forest Cats of North America" published by Firefly Books. Author is Jerry Kobalenko.

Do a google on several of their names...cougar, mountain lion, puma. We at one time had a bunch of outstanding pictures of them a few years back when my wife was doing some small wall sculptures of critters.

Check some university websites for those with panthers/cougars etc. for mascots. Most have pretty fearsome looking cats. The photos below are from Pitt. Penn State's mascot is similar.

How are you making out on the snarl? Can we see progress or the finished piece? Come on, don't be shy!

Jeff give me a call I am free next week if your not working I can bring you some pictures over and have a look at that cougar. As you know I did a snarling cougar for the Cookstown School we could go and have a look at that if you wanted. You are more than welcome to use my computer if yours is acting up
