Default Commerson's Dolphin

I've been working on a gift for a friend. I tought of it just as a little figure, but then I found the stick and armed a base, here is the result. I like it because it is very simple and quick to do, but the result is quite nice.

Nicely done Tarik. What type of wood is the base? And if you don't mind me asking did you carve the fins separately or as one piece?

Dylan

That is a beautiful piece Tarik. I would have done something different with the base, but understand your concept with the stick. Great carving.

Hola Tarik.....Great carving! Really like the base. A lot of carvers forget this most important piece of presentation. While your carving is excellent that base just sets it off even more. Good work.

I think you meat Killer Whale vs. Dolphin? Never seen a dolphin with those colors.

Would love to have that sitting on my desk at work. I have a passion for water and whales as I am an avid sea kayaker. Nicely done.

Lynn....do a google on the Commerson dolphin, it's a dolphin alright, with the coloration of a Killer Whale. Native to South America and also found in the Indian Ocean.
