Default Chickadee... Seems to be a popular bird to carve.

Here is a Black-capped Chickadee that I finished today.

David, it looks fantastic to me. I really like the way you have it mounted. It looks like it could fly away.

I agree with TBerry on your carving Mystic, Don't sell yourself short. Each carving you complete will show improvement over the others. I just finished a Mallard Duck head for a cane and think I made it too big. At least for the 1 inchdia cane. Done really like the tapered down look to the cane but may have to do it that way. Each carving is a learning process and boy have a I learned.

Great Chickadee, David, you sure do wonderful work! And Mystic I agree 100% with Kenny, don't ever put your work down, every piece you do will be better and better and as far as I'm concerned, you're doing pretty darn good already!! Callynne

Beautiful carvings, David. How did you mount the feet on the small branch? I usually make my legs and feet from wire and string. I'd never be able to mount my homely little bird on such a small branch like you have your chickadee on. Good work.

The feet are made out of metal and were soldered to the branch. before painting.
