Default Chesapeake Wildfowl Expo

The Expo started today with carvers and collectors doing a "Buy-sell & trade" in the parking lot, tomorrow will be the Shootin' Stool Competition and the carving demos and competitions.

Today was a good opportunity to get a few pictures before the museum gets too busy, I thought you may like these.

The large building is the Chesapeake Bay Decoy Carver's Shop by Keith Littlejohn from Newark, IL,. It would take lots of photos to get all the detail inside and out of this wood carving but here are a few.

The Expo is held in Salisbury Maryland at the Ward Museum of Waterfowl Art, today, Sat and Sunday.

Here are a few more pictures, some were taken in the parking lot.

It looks like there are really some nice carving of high quality. Are you entering this show? If so what did you enter?

Hi Bill,
I don't have anything in the competitions, I'm not that good yet but maybe someday. I'm going back today to see the carving demos and presentations by the master carvers of Virginia and try to learn a thing or two.

There will also be an "Old Birds" antique decoy competition (min 50 years old) and hopefully I can learn something about antique decoy's.

Thanks for posting those photos. Really like the little Wendell Sheerman scenes. I Googled him but could only come up with a couple of pictures of his work. If there are more scenes of his sure would like to see them!!

The duck carver and camp site scenes were for sale by one of the antique collectors in the parking lot those were the only two he had.

Sure would be good to see in person... I was wondering though; why would you want to shoot your stool?
