Default Carving a Seagull

I want to carve a seagull. Can someone refer me to some directions, preferably step-by-step directions, for completing such a project? Thanks for any response.

Herb

Just like as turkey. Take the drumsticks off first, then the wings. Then seperate the breast meat from the carcas and boil the rest for soup. Don't eat the gizzard; it's full of sand and sea shells.

Herb, I can't help you out with any personal experience, but I do have a book, 'Carving Waterbirds' by Anthony Hillman, Dover Publications, that has a pretty decent pattern for a gull, either seagull or herring gull, and general instructions in the front of the book for carving water birds. Â*I think the book is available on the buy books part of this site. Â*I got this book at Rockler in the twin cities, MN.

www.stillerpatterns.com Â* Â* Â* Â*has gull patterns, also.

Thanks, Al! (Especially for not being a wisenheimer.)

Dear Herb: Sorry if I offended you. It isn't often we get a good straight line, and I couldn't resist having a little fun. At least I didn't give the standard answer: 'Well, you start with a tree and carve away everything that doesn't look like a seagull'. Good luck with your project.
