I'll pass your good wishes on to them. I'm quite proud of their work. They all worked hard.

Nice falcons Hugh. Good to see more bird carvers coming along. I like the variety of bases. How did you work the feet?

Well done Hugh. You have inspired those carvers and set them on a road that they will enjoy for the rest of their lives. The skills you taught them will help them satisfy that need in them to create. Well done to your students!!!

Bob

Thanks, the feet they made them selves. Gave them the material, made the feet for my own falcon, and they watched, and made their own. I think they did a better job than I did on mine. Grin. Made me work harder on the next feet I made. Grin. Paul I make my feet from copper wire, make each toe, put the epoxy putty leaving a small space where it is to be connected to the leg, and epoxy each toe in place , no soldering.

Hope I didn't cause any problems by deleting this posting. I had posted it for my students credit. After reading my part of the posting over, and the very nice comments , It looked to me as if I was bragging about my abilities , rather than giving credit to the students. I never touch their work, and it just seemed wrong to me, as if I was stealing their thunder. Thanks for your very kind comments, a good friend PM'd me and asked me to reinstate this thread. Hope this is OK.

Me again, Al Clarke entered his Decoy in the Halifax Carving competition last week, won a first place in Diving Ducks, intermediate and second best of show for Intermediate. The girls are waiting for the NB show in August to enter their carvings.
