where is the cheapest place to buy wood. Also for bigger carvings like 15" X 15" or so? like for the bigger birds or a puppy? thanks Tammy |

If you read through here Carving Wood & Materials - Woodcarving Illustrated Message Board you'll probably find every place that sells carving wood. The general consensus is that Heinecke has the best bass wood, and they'll make up custom sizes for you. Claude |

I'm sure what area you live in but you could try your local wood mill,bass wood is used for making moldings for your home so depending on your area they would have larger stock like your looking for. Just a thought.
