well I finally decided on a theme and finished up the habitat for this ole' blue jay. All natural - birch limb cutoff from my back yard, some moss from Michaels and pine cone to boot. Black walnut base. Hope you all like it! Mark |

looks GREAT! I was contemplating using some of the moss on my base as well... nice to see it in use so I can get a feel for how it'd look.

OHh Yea!! Thats it!! Just right Mark! The tree branch and the other items made him look more real! I can almost hear his crys,JAY JAYYYYY~ If you touch a bluejays babies even just a light touch with your finger on the tops of thier heads. When the mother Jay gets back, she will kill the babies you touched. Nice job again Mark on your Jay. Forrest

Thanks Jammy! This is the 2nd time I've used the moss on a base, and have been really pleased with the results. Alot easier and less time-consuming than carving and texturing moss out of wood, that's for sure, and it was a present for my wife, nothing to be entered into competition, so why not??? Thanks for looking, and for the feedback! Mark |

Thank you Forrest, my friend! I wasn't sure about putting that stuff with such a nice black walnut base, wondering how well it would go. Once I got it going though, I was really pleased with it. And hey - since it's for my better half, the extra cost of the base is well worth it! Thanks for looking, Forrest, and as always, for your kind words. Mark |
