Hi Ken; We live in Abbotsford, just 20 minutes east of Vancouver on the #1. Vancouver Island people originally and (hopefully) move back there to retire - or maybe Flin Flon where out fun relatives live and fish ! -

Ken, thanks for your detailed discription of making the branch and carving/painting the warbler. Good stuff! Keep it up. Dick

Hi Ken, You've really done a great job here describing the process. Makes me want to try to take it on myself! (I've been using "the real thing" to mount my bird carvings thus far) Mark |

You know I can't pass this up . . . . but Don't you just hate when "Cat- tastrophies" happen ? Nice McGyver though, I'll have to store that fix-it in the little grey cells for later. Larry

Thanks for the run-down on your technique, interesting to read and view. I'm going to try the inserts on the wings and the way you did the branch. I'm one of the guys that goes into the woods and picks up a branch or two. Jax. |

Hey Ken, Sorry to read about your cat- and coffee- accidents. Seems to always happen that way to me, too. Stewing about one disaster and create another. About that time everything I touch turns to poo... That's when I pack up shop for the night & go see what the Red Sox are doin'. I'd still like to see your McGiver pix. Nice recovery! Mark |

I can just imagine how ticked off your cat was when he jumped this perfectly lucious looking (and really dumb) bird. I'm sure he was drooling in mid-leap. That's pretty much an unkind trick to pull on your poor old cat. Next time carve and paint a "sorta" bird so the cat will know what he's getting into. Anyhow...nice recovery and, of course, beautiful job! |

Right-on, Randy! It isn't nice to fool the cat. And that bird definitely looks like he could fly off the branch. Super job, Ken. I don't know how you could improve that! |

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!! Ken, you've done a wonderful job. I agree with Joy - it looks like your bird could fly right off that branch. Hard to tell neither the bird nor the branch aren't "real". So, what's your next project? Mark |
