Default Black Capped Chickadee

Hi Everyone! Just a quick post to show a little Black-Capped Chickadee I just completed. Carved from tupelo gum wood and painted with acrylics. Used some artistic license on the base and made the top leaves realistic and the lower ones not so much so to give it some contrast. Life sized.

Seeing a fine carving like that really teaches me to appreciate those of you who carve birds. I never used to look at them as closely as I do now. That is surely a testiment to your talents.
Love the way you did the leaves and berries too.
The bird looks so real.

So realistic! I like the way you done the leaves and berries also and the little touch of snow under the chickadee.
I am not a bird carver but love to look at those who do carve them and this one is fantastic. Yep, One realistic and Fantastic carving.

Marc that is an outstanding carving! I really like the base and love chickadees, they are the neatest little birds and they like humans....we used to have them follow us all over our 5 acres when we were outside in colorado....waiting for a peanut ha ha......really outstanding carving!

Great Job on both the Chickadee and the base, really makes a nice piece that anyone would be proud to have.

It's beautiful. I love the feathers and the detail of the legs.

Very nice chickadee Mark.
Dave said that a poor old chickadee would follow him for 5 acres to get a peanut. That chickadee was lucky to get a peanut from Dave.
