Default Bird Kits!

I guess I am going to try my hand at bird carving. This due to a request from my mom she wants a male cardinal. So does anyone have a source for kits that include feet and good pattern and intructions with a roughed out blank. If i know her she gets one she will want other birds too. Let me know Thanks.

these are the two mail order shops I deal with the most. They both carry cutout blanks done from Stiller plans, and they can hook you up with the correct eyes and feet. I deal most of the time with Hummul, you have to call, e-mail or snall mail your order in. In your case a phone call would be your best bet. They are very helpfull. If you place the order before 2pm EST it should ship that day.

I just ordered a "kit" from Smoky Mountain Woodcarving. It's put together by Wings Gate. Includes a lifesize drawing with tips on tools (burs and burning tips). Of course, the blank, feet, and eyes are there also. Not a bad deal. Just like you, this will be my first attempt (well, real attempt) at bird carving. It may be some time before I get to it, but at least I have the "parts" now.
