Can someone help out with advice on bending the toes of those cast bird feet to fit the bases? there was a discussion somewhere about heating them somehow, but I can't locate the discussion or remember what the heat source was/ boiling water, heat in oven, torch.......whatever.

The best method I found was the boiling water. Everything is moved to the kitchen pot on stove 1/2 full of water and boil baby boil!!!!

Make sure you hold the feet with pliers or long forceps as the water splashs up and burns like __________ (you can place your own favorite curse here)

Thanks, Jeff, I kinda thought that was what it was, but not sure, ya know?? Didn't want to screw up the feet. I'll steer clear of the 'bubble-up'!

Al...I just used hot water from the tap, but then I didn't have a lot of bending to do, and I put under the tap, bent a little, more hot water etc, back and forth and didn't have any problem.
