Default Bees for Grandaughter

My grandaughter (age 3+) has taken an interest in bees and bee hives so I made her a hive with a couple bees from a large wooden egg and some smaller ones. OK, so it ain't reall masterfull carving, but it was fun and I'm sure she'll like it. The bee with the legs has a magnet in it and there is another magnet in the side of the hive so the bee can hang on the side or set on the top, The little bee in the entrance has folded wings and can be pulled out, too. but no magnet there.

Excellent idea but the main rewards or the highest ribbons is your grandaughter's "smiles" playing with this neat bee hive and the bees! She will have it when shes older and will remember that you carved it for her.

Very nice!! Forrest

Anything done for a 3 year old granddaughter is a winner! This is a cute idea and she will treasure it forever.

That's really neat Al and original. Kid's ain't as critical as us cantankerous old fools and I'm sure she'll love it! Heck I like it! What did you use for the bee's wings? That's a great learning toy. You might have come up with something!

Eddy, the wings are made of celuloid sheet...this stuff is translucent but you can also get it in clear. I think I got this at Office Max or one of the other office supply stores.
