If you are looking for a caricature bear, check out the host of this message board... Woodcarving Illustrated. I am a charter subscriber and know that theere have been several bear patterns in it. i believe Desiree Hajny has bears in a couple of her books.

Check out Wood Carving Illustrated, Issue 16. Art Shoemaker has a tutorial on carving a bear cub.
