Talking Bald Eagle Project

My wife took somemore photos of the 1/3 lifesize bald eagle I'm working on while we were at the Yosemite studio over Thanksgiving. In these I'm working in more detail on the head. I always start at the bottom most feather and work towards the crown or top of the head. In these photos, I have gotten the feathers to the proper depth and now rounding them with a 1/4 inch diamond ball. The next step will be to sand each feather smooth and then to burn in the shafts of each feather. I will then use a white stone as small as I can fined to texture these feathers. I always texture white or light colored areas and burn dark ones. I will sometimes spend more time on the head than I do on the body this in my opinion is the most important part of the bird.
