Default Bald Eagle

I started this Eagle at a 5 week course at the Haliburton School of art with master carver and World winner John Leeder.Haliburton school of art is located in Haliburton Ontario Canada. This was a real chalenge full Eagle in miniature 12" wing span 5" body carved in Tupolo in flight. I did not finish the Eagle at the course because of all the extra detail.I completed in at home texturing woodburning painting and mounting. I carved and painted a rock cliff from Basswood and mounted the Eagle with a brass pins the Eagle can be removed from it,s mount. I did receive a third place ribbon in the minature itermediate division Canadian Nationals Kitchener Ontorio.
Gordo.

That carving is really something. Wish I lived closer to central Canada as I'd love to get mentored by that instructor. Beautiful work. Thanks for letting us have a look.

Beautiful work. One of my goals in carving is to try to carve an eagle. Once I have mastered carving the female face and carving a Carousel horse for my grand daughter I will definitely try it. I could only hope to have one half as nice as yours.

Hi Gordo,

beautiful and inspiring piece you've done here. I love the detail and remarkably you've captured this majestic bird in flight!
