Question Baby Ducks trying to carve them Help please!

Howdy folks i was thinking about trying to carve a few small baby ducks,
If anyone has any advise when carving say 4 - 5 inch baby ducks? let me know please..
I Dont need the ducks feet in the carving,, i just want them to look like they are in swimming in the water straight forward nothing complex..
Im not to much into detail yet i just want the 3d shape ..I just cant figgure out how to make THE shape..
What type of wood and what tools should i look at..
If any one has any pictures step by step that would be super and very much appreciated....

Super site here Folks A+

Go to a store that sells the little yellow plastic baby ducks. I think I saw them in Target the other day. Now's a good time to look around because it's close to Easter and it's Spring.

Did you look on 'decoycarvingforum.com' yet? I've seen baby ducks there, and you always see them at the Ward show (April 25 this year).
