| | American Goldfinch Here's another piece for the commissions I'm doing for the collector. Wanted to have the base a piece of dead oak branch to contrast with the live bird! Just have to figure a name for it now. Tupelo for both the Goldfinch and the branch.

| | Re: American Goldfinch Beautiful job (as usual) Mark!!
I'd have a tough tie naming it, all I know is that they really love thistle seeds...love to watch 'em on the feeders... |

| | Re: American Goldfinch Beautiful Mark! As for a name how about 'Natures Songbird' or on that same thought 'Natures Yellow & Black Songbird'.

| | Re: American Goldfinch Superb little carving Marc, lovely setting for the sweet little Wild Canary. We have them nest in the trees surrounding our house every summer and are regular visitors to our feeders. They just make my day watching them while sitting on the deck in the morning.
Thanks Marc...... that carving made me think of the joys of summer, here in the depths of another snow fall.

| | Re: American Goldfinch That's a great job, Marc. When I was a kid(100 years ago) we called them "wild canaries". |

| | Re: American Goldfinch I can't think of anything more to say than what's been said about how wonderful it it, but he gives me the impression that he's anxiously waiting his turn at the bird feeder. Ready to launch off that branch any second!
Beautiful carving.
