| | Re: Where are all the bird carvers??? Falconer, I would give my eye teeth (now thats a funny one if you read my post in Off topic about a week ago) to be able to do birds. As good as you or Lori though, not just do them. I would be into birds of prey and waterfowl. Also unusual, exotic birds. Plenty of study models around here for ducks & geese. I happen to have two geese in my backyard too.

| | Re: Where are all the bird carvers??? I carve birds. I'll see if I can get my son to scan in a couple of pictures in the morning. My bid deal is musculature and feather detail. I'm a severe realist with critters, carved or engraved.

| | Re: Where are all the bird carvers??? Nancy, I think you could do them. It's really no different in some ways than carving a santa. With this new thread I thought I'd stir things up a bit or that was my intention anyway. |

| | Re: Where are all the bird carvers??? I have a chickadee half done that I should really try to finish sometime here in the near future. Been fiddling with leaves and eyes and noses and all sorts of little practice things. Learning how to use my beginners set that i bought from little shavers. The chickadee is only the second one that i have done but it is looking so much better than the first at the moment it has me a little excited which makes me wonder why I have let it sit so long. Busy busy busy I guess. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
