Default Airbrushing Demo

I stumbled across an airbrushing demo on YouTube yesterday. It's a 7-part series done by George Kruth, a well-known wildfowl carver. If this has been posted before, my apologies.

If you've not seen it tho and are an airbrush novice or are considering obtaining an airbrush to add to your painting options, you really should give this a look. Once you get to the first video, you should be able to find the other 6 by looking to the thumbnails that YouTube provides on the right side of their screen.

Here's the link to the first video. Airbrushing Wildfowl Cravings - YouTube

One piece of gear you need that I have never seen, but built for myself.
Good sized 2'x2'x2' cardboard box. On its side, get in there with a glue gun and hang pieces of cardboard, old towel, cloth, screen, etc. 1" hole, middle of the front, several 2" holes in the other end. The baffle setup is kind of like the inside of a car muffler. This is the "bag-house" for test spraying, cleaning, etc. You can't get away with blasting that stuff around the room.

Really appreciate you sharing the air brush link. Air brushing has the dead wood on me...maybe this will help. Thanks again. Dick

Lightbulb Re: Airbrushing Demo

For a person with some amount of pre-developed skills using a two-stage brush, the first two in the series contain a wealth of information. I haven't watched the remaining 5, as of yet. This gets into the art of using the a/b for detailing the bird w/o use of a standard brush. Part 2 shows the brush technique (sable)to add even more detail to the a/b work. I suppose completing the series will motivate me even further, to use the instrument I feared worse than a simple Loewe Cornell #4. Thanks for sharing the link. "Doc"
