| | 38th World Championship I went over to Ocean City today to take some pictures of this years carvings and do a little shopping, here are a few of the 50 or so picture I got today. The 38th Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition is this weekend in Ocean City Maryland, it's the largest event for Wildfowl carvers with about 1500 carvings by over 800 carvers from all over the US,also entries from Canada,Russia, Japan and England.
The estimated attendance over the three day's is about 8,000 and about 150 venders inside and out. I had a great time shopping (and I hate to go shopping but this was different lol) you could have built a small forest with the wood in the parking lot. World five Divisions (Division "A" top award is $8,000,World Champion Ring, Trophy and Rosette)
Masters four Divisions (Life-size Wildfowl top award $1,200, Rosette and Medallion)
Advanced is made up of advanced amateur and professional carvers (BOS=$750, Rosette)
Intermediate (BOS=$200,Rosette)
Novice (BOS=$200, Rosette)
Many Specialty Competitions: Sculpture,Bench,Smoothie,Antique, youth and others. http://www.wardmuseum.org/worldsdl.asp
