Default Vertical Band Saw

Who would be willing to give me some advice and/or recommendation on a good vertical band saw to purchase. I do scroll saw, other wood work and like to cut my own wood. I'm looking for something $400.00 to $700.00 price range.

Thanks,
b-hunter

Sorry..I didn't see your post! I have a Ridgid 14 in bandsaw and it is a good saw, but.....if I were to buy again, I would buy the Grizzly 14 in with the automatic tension bar..also it comes with the fence and the square for much less than I paid...!

Thanks Hi_Ho,
I have been looking at the Grizzley G0555 14' w/riser option. Reviews look good and good price.

Thanks again,
b-hunter

Have you bought your saw yet? Just saw this note and thought I'd pass on some info.

I recommend saving your money and go all hog with a Laguna. $945US but worth every penny. I bought one this past winter and that beauty sings. Cuts a straight as a die (for resawing) and has more power than comparible saws. Uses Ceramic guides, only saw that has them and they are way more accurate than rollers or cool blocks.

Uses 220 volt power, but that's a minor job for an electrician to run a plug for you.
