| | | Jigsaws!! Hello!!
I am going to buy a jigsaw. But I'm wondering, what are some of the less expensive, good quality ones out there?
Thanks. |

| | Re: Jigsaws!! Kenny, jig saws are all about in the same price range. If you see one real cheap like the ryobi stay away. Bosch makes nice saws. You have to decide whether you want a barrel type or the straight up and down type. Try them both and see how they feel in your hand. I would also look into the variable speed ones. The Bosch has a no tool blade changing system which is great and uses bayonet type blades. As you can tell I am partial to Bosch. Dewalt makes a nice saw also. Porter Cable has a good one. Look around and feel it in your hands and see if it is confortable, ease of blade changing, good line of site, bevel capabilities, and variable speed. Good luck.

| | Re: Jigsaws!! Hi Kenny,
Did you buy your saw yet? I just came across your message. I have a sweet little Dremel scroll saw that works great. I saw a scrollsaw comparisome in a magazine not long ago, December 2003 copy of Workbench Magazine, compared Craftsman, Delta, Dremel, Ryobi, and Wilton.
None are really expensive ( $99.00 to $210.00) and all will do the job, but some are just more of a pleasure to use than others.
Good luck with it, and happy sawing.

| | Re: Jigsaws!! You are of course right! I had written the note and just hit send when I noticed that he was talking Jigsaw and not Scrollsaw! But, no 'do over' so had to let it go. Sorry about that!
