I use the green Chromium Oxide which is quite hard but rubs easily on to the strop; it too came with my handmade strop. I also have the softer yellow that came with my Flexcut Slipstrop however, I prefer the green.

I have the sticks gold from Flex cut, green, white and black. My strop from Smokey Mountains Woodcarver has four sides.....I have black, green, white...and one side plain to clean compound off knife. Gold I use off and on although I do like, change back and forth with the white. Every once in while I grab the other ones it depends what I am stropping.

BTW- I use and love Notto White Gold mostly, but I do use others.

What ever is on sale......I'm kinda cheap.....or as I was told to say when I worked at a hobby shop: "our stuff is not CHEAP! It's inexpensive.

Notto White Gold for me but I am rapidly becoming a fan of this Tormek paste.

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.
