Smile you know you've been carving too long when.....

I think this type of thread may have made the rounds before...

I was having some work done on my car this past weekend (a friend of mine does it for me), he's one of those 'horse people'. He was making a saddle rack out of a 2 and a half foot long cherry log section and wanted a horse shoe surrounding a horse head carved in the end so I was carving while he was doing the mechanical work. About two hours in, he told me to go and get some relays from the parts store...I was covered in sawdust and wood chips and he handed me a brush which I took and promptly started brushing off the carving. Well he started laughing and said, "No stupid, the brush is for you!"

So my question is, you know you've been carving to long when.....

and in your cup of tea, in your bed, on the tip of your dogs nose, all over the house and the best of all.....when you're waiting to be seated at your favorite restaurant and your friend starts laughing and pulls a couple big chips out of your hair!!!! You can dress me up, but you can't take me anywhere!! And I wouldn't have it any other way!!! Deborah

My husband and I were at the cash register at Wally World and I took my wallet out and opened it and pulled out the money to give the cashier and wood chips popped out! lo She looked at me and I glanced at my husband laughing and apologized to her. I told her I'm sorry we're woodcarvers. They're wood chips. She looked at me like okay..... but never blinked or said a word about it. LOL

You know you've been carving too long when you stop at a roadside wood pile and pull out the bow saw you've stashed in your trunk so you can cut a few choice pieces . . .

Hubby is pulling chips out of my hair after we go to bed. How romantic! part of the dogs diet is chips at the bottom of their food dish. Saves money! Get in arguments if the wood is going in the wood box for fire or in my stash! Aaaah when I put a good chunk of tan oak in the wood stove and almost cry that it's going to get burnt! Have to get all the pocket knives out of my purse and stash em in the ford before I go into the VA clinic with my husband, that was yesterday.
