Finished this one today. It's black cherry finished with tung oil.

Once again great carving and so small and detailed. How do you hold on to it to carve? Do you use a vise or some sort?

That's a very nice medallion. The carving is perfect. How did you do it? The finish is very nice, also.

Thanks! I have a swivel vise I got from widget supply. It's kind of cheap, but gets the job done. Mostly I hold them with my fingers tho.

I cut them out with a scroll saw, then use files to smooth out the rough spots (I'm horrible with a scroll saw, most saws actually). Next I used a dremel for the holes and the center. Then I trimmed the edges with a knife and sanded starting with 220 grit down to 800 grit.
