Default YEAH, I did it!!

Hi guys....well...it has been one hectic time around here lately!! I had mentioned on another thread that I was trying desperately to get my Santas done and then two pieces finished up for the Carving Show. I made it, got all the pieces to the Gallery in time and in six days carved two pieces for the Show. AND they each won a ribbon, Second place for the Santa and Third place for Lady Liberty. If you want to check them out just click on the link below, Santa is the 2004 Santa Album and Lady Liberty is in the Patriotic Album (of course! ), they are the ones with ribbons! YEAH!!
I sure did find out a few things about myself the past few weeks, hubby peeked in at me at one point, setting in a mess of chips, sketches and tools and asked 'Do you still love carving?' Exhausted, bleary eyed and overwhelmed, I didn't even have to hesitate before I answered 'Yes, more than ever!'. I don't want to have things get that 'down to the wire' again, (I was gluing Lady Liberty onto her base an hour before deadline for entry! ) but I love carving no matter how exhausted or overwhelmed I am and that is one great feeling!!
I still have to get a lot accomplished this year, carving wise....as for today, I have a lot to get accomplished housework wise....man, things sure do fall apart and pile up when you don't keep after them!!
I'm glad to 'be back' I've missed talking to you all! Callynne

Deb if it was me doing the judging you would have got two firsts just magnificent pieces. You should be very proud of them next time though give yourself a little more time, I mean ONE hour before your going your gluing the base on thats really cutting it fine.
Thanks for letting us see them and congratulations on your ribbons

That lighthouse Santa is a neat idea. Who has carved a Santa carving a Santa? I'd like to see that. Great work and certainly worth your effort. Keep up the good work.

Callyne, Great job and congratulations on your wins. I was at the show on Saturday and was very impressed with the entries. Were you there for the whole weekend?
