Default xmas request for kids - little kids

I have stated here before that I have kind of adopted my dau in laws 1st grade class. In keeping with that I have grown them pumpkins for Halloween and recently carved a snow man for them as well as a whole bunch of scroll saw ornaments they can color etc. It occurred to me that giving them little carvings would be very cool. I mean how many kdis get a carving for xmas? In talking to her this t'day she informed me that 3/4 of the class have no dad. there is no men in their life. As far as t'day and xmas are concerned they wont have one because they are too poor. They have been told by mom its simply not possible. So, I am carving (trying) 30 snowmen and santas for them. obviously none of these pieces are art works, not a lot of eye detail etc, but for a 1st grader I think they will be elated. She does a good job of selling this to the kids, telling them that this man made this for them, and they leave, quite elated in their little present. Well heres the pitch. I know I have a lot of stuff lying around that I carved at one point and simply didnt think it was good, and it ended up on a shelf someplace. and im sure a lot of carvers have similar stuff. Stuff you did, maybe a practice piece or you were working towards a finished product. Anyway I appealing to everyone here, if you have a rough piece that you can spare, some little kid would be elated to get it. Send it to me. I dont want to publish my addy on a world wide forum as I am suspicious of the net, so if you send me a pm, I;ll give you the addy. All contributions are welcome so dont be shy. Love all of you and Im sure the carving community will respond to the lonely and disanfranchised. tanks and god bless
