| | WV Carving Club Yeah, I know it's been forever and a day since I've been around here - sorry about that. Alot of stuff has kept me away, including laziness and apathy on my part - so please do forgive me. I hope everyone is well - I've missed this place alot and I hope I'll get back here on a more regular basis soon.
At the moment, I'm in Wheeling, WV - my hometown. I drove back here a month or so ago, and am planning to stick around for a bit with family and friends - at least a few months, I suspect. So, I'm wondering if anyone in these parts is familiar with any carving clubs in this area? I left here at 19, and haven't spent more than a week or two at a time here since, so I just don't have a clue what carvers might be in the area, but it sure would be good to find some - people keep looking at me funny when they see me with all these sharp knives (or rather, not-so-sharp knives - Hey Rick, guess what I'll be sending along soon :-)
Hugs to everyone on board,
Teri |

Welcome home !
Not sure about a carving group, but while your there , make sure you go to Cabelas. Take a cammera . They have some really amazing things there and the animals are in great poses for reference materials .
Get a chance to head this way let me know.

Great to see you back online, hope things are going better for you.
In answer to your question, there is a group "Oglebay Woodcarvers" and you might try to contact by e-mail Clark@unimaxsystems.com
He is actually a contact for a show they will be hosting Sept 1-2. Maybe this would be something that interests you, it is worth a try.
It seems to me that Martin's Ferry also has a woodcarving club.
You may be wondering how some one in AZ knows knows about Wheeling. Well I got the info from Chip Chats; but my Father grew up in Martins Ferry and over the years I have noticed quite a few events in that area. I guess it is a real hotbed for woodcarvers.
Anyway; I hope this helps.
Best wishes and hope to see you here more often.

| | Re: WV Carving Club Welcome back Teri. We've missed the mid-night sessions of so long ago. I see you're to be either an instructor or a featured artist at the Carve-Fest 2007 in August. Congratualtions. You've come a long ways.
Fat Eddy.

| | Re: WV Carving Club Hey girlfriend it has been for ever since I heard a word from you. Really nice to see you posting again your personality and talent have been very much missed. The Santa you carved me is still sitting on the shelf in the living room and still gets many ohs and ahs.
Again nice to see you back you are going to miss all that rain in Seattle
