Glad to hear that things have improved..... Thanks for the update.

Now you can try the colon cleaning for that last little bit of improvement.

Dileon,
Prior to the surgery, the surgeon stated that a partial fusion would decrease the pain but that I should expect some decrease in mobility. At that time I could bend the wrist down about 40 degrees and up about 10 degrees as measured from a horizontal plane. Side to side motion was very limited. Motion was considerably less in all directions when compared to my "good" wrist.

Last week prior to removal of the screws I could bend the wrist down about 60 degrees and up about 15 degrees. Side to side motion was about the same. After screw removal the range of motion is about the same. It just does not hurt nearly as much with movement. (Note: There is a big difference between a full wrist fusion and a partial fusion. Full wrist fusion does not allow any up or down motion.)

The goal of the surgery was to reduce pain. Increased mobility was a bonus. This surgery seems to have greatly improved my ability to function but as I said earlier, it is very painful surgery with a long recovery time. I would not consider it until the wrist becomes too painful to do even simple tasks such as brushing your teeth or combing your hair.

Thanks
Rufus
