| | Re: Wow, Deborah's WCI Article !! Thanks Nancy, I'm glad you finally received your issue and you like my article!! Bob D gets the credit, he took the way too many pictures I sent him and the excess of words (I know that surprises you doesn't it....that I might have used an excess of words to explain things! ) and did a great job of making it into an understandable step by step article. Thanks again, Bob!!
It really has been a great experience for me. I have received so many wonderful comments on it, Thanks again to everyone who has contacted me!!
An interesting comment on how many people WCI reaches. My website has a statistics page, the day before the magazine came out I had 210 hits, the day after 1,381 hits! Yesterday was the first day it had gone back down closer to the normal amount of hits!! Definitely a great and very popular magazine, one I'm so pleased to have be in! Thanks again to the entire staff at WCI, it's been a wonderful experience from start to finish! Deborah |

I have followed your work through the last couple of years, but have probably been remiss in giving you a great big "Atta Girl" for your past work and awards. You have done a lot of great carvings.
I have to say that I really enjoyed your carving in this issue, and you should be proud of yourself. Enjoy your bit of fame, and if I could speak for the whole board; Pleeese Deb, could we have some more?
At any rate, Good Job!

| | Re: Wow, Deborah's WCI Article !! Yeh, Deborah, please, please may we have more???? I loved the article. So neat, original, unique, and well done. I loved it and thought the article was well done, too. All the articles were way too cool! I've known you are an awesomely talented carver for several years--would love to see more examples.

| | Re: Wow, Deborah's WCI Article !! Jim, Donna, thank you for the great compliments, I'm glad you liked the article!
Since I always say I just hack and gouge till things look right, doing it 'step by step' was a real learning experience for me. Made me realize there is at least a little 'method' to my madness! Of course, it helped that Bob was there to sort it all out, not matter how much he says he didn't have to!!
I have to admit, it's great being able to share what I do and I'd love to do it again. You know, it's funny, friends and family (non carvers) have all commented I have 'given my secrets away'....just goes to show, they don't know woodcarvers, do they? I haven't met a carver yet that hasn't been much more than willing to help, advise and 'share' their secrets! It's a great group of people to belong to, isn't it?!!!
Thanks again for the compliments! Deborah |

| | Re: Wow, Deborah's WCI Article !! I've found, as everyone knows, that any carver will share her/his knowledge about how a carving is done. Having said that, being able to make a carving like Deborah's, Harold Enlow's, Pete LeClair or any other known carver, and make it look like theirs is a whole nother matter. I'd love to be able to carve like some of the known carvers. Ain't gonna happen in this lifetime, the carvings are still gonna look like I carved them.
IMHO
