Default Would like some info on a nice wood horse, pictures inside

My dad acquired this recently and I tried to look for some info, but the main problem is there are no markings to be found. I think it's a really nice piece, I looked on ebay and saw many other wood horses but none exactly like this so I suspect it's a one of a kind, but I guess that is not so rare in this hobby of hand carving. Anyhow, obviously we are hoping this is a museum piece worth thousands but seriously we would just like to know more information about it, hopefully someone here can shed some light? We live in California, the horse came from an elderly women who has travelled the world as her husband was retired military, he recently passed away and was in his eighties. She couldn't tell us anything about it, she was going to give the horse to goodwill. Thank you.

So I clicked on the link and all hell broke loose. It is a SPAM ad for AVG and you get the big "Your computer is infected" message.

It worked for me. I see the photos of the horse and don't see any malicious code.

Unfortunately, I don't know much about the horse carving. It's got some Asian inspiration (the Tang Horses), but it's exaggerated like you'd see in African carvings. I also don't recognize the wood.

Best Regards,

I did get to see the pictures of the horse, but I got the same popups that Don got...the link is trying to get you to install a malware program by pretending that you are infected by all kinds of viruses. IGNORE ALL THE POPUPS AND CLOSE THE WINDOWS>>>>>>>DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING IT ASKS YOU TO...........

That link could do bad things to your PC!

Kevin,
Perhaps you could upload the photos as attachments to this post? That would get around the possible security risk of Imageshack.

Oh! Very sorry some of you got those pop ups I guess I should have known better about imageshack. The reason I didn't put the pictures here originally is because they were too big, but I will resize them and upload. Thank you for the responses so far.

I think Don is on the right track....maybe Korean? Looks like that style of carving, more of a souvenir item, similar to what I saw when I was in the Navy.

Thanks for the answers, so it seems pretty certain it's from Asia, any way to date it at all? My guess is 1950's or 60's? Finally, any idea on a value?
