Lightbulb Workshops

Hey I actually just joined up to woodcarving illustrated and this seems like a pretty cool place to ask questions, so I got one for you guys. I'm actually just starting carving and live close to Denver, Colorado and I am trying to find a couple good workshops to go to. Does anyone know about any workshops close to there, or a good place to find information about workshops? Thanks.

Check out www.jchristopherwhite.com I know he has a couple classes a year. Chris White is a wonderful person and turns out some great work and is a great instructor also. Oh yes, he is at Loveland Colo....Sorry I can't help you with any other ones. I have taken a class with him and I can't say enough good about him and his class.

My suggestion is to visit this WCI link, find a club near you and ask them.

Good luck!

Gene,
Here's some nearby groups to contact for workshop info:

Pikes's Peak Whittlers - gary.fenton@juno.com (they have a show in March)
Woodcarving Rendezvous at Creede - wnwcarver@aol.com (website: www.creedwoodcarvers.com)
Fort Collins - Northern Colorado Wood Carvers (November show) Bob Smith: rfses@msn.com
Denver: http://www.coloradocarvers.org

There are some other clubs/groups in Colorado but these are the ones I'm aware of that are closeby.

Every second Tuesday (that's tomorrow!) the Loveland club meets at Woodcraft in Loveland.

Here's a link: http://lovelandcarvingclub.org/

FYI, the directions on that web site are a little hard to follow, and I've only been there once, so I'm just hoping I don't get lost tomorrow...
